Scripture: Luke 10:25–37
Beloved family of I F P REMISSION Ministry, our calling in Christ Jesus is not only to pray for the world but also to become vessels through whom His love, mercy, and goodness reach humanity.
In Luke 10:25–37, Jesus tells the story of a man who was attacked by robbers, beaten, wounded, and left half-dead beside the road. He was helpless and desperately needed someone to rescue him.
A priest passed by. A Levite also passed by. Both saw his suffering, yet neither stopped to help. Then a Samaritan came along. When he saw the wounded man, his heart was moved with compassion. He approached him, treated his wounds, carried him to an inn, and provided for his care.
The Samaritan did not merely see the pain; he became part of the healing.
Beloved, this is the kind of life Christ Jesus calls us to live.
Every day, we encounter people who are wounded in different ways. Some struggle financially, others carry emotional burdens, and some silently battle discouragement, loneliness, fear, and hopelessness. They may smile before others while crying in secret. They may sit beside us in church while desperately needing encouragement, love, and understanding.
Sometimes, we pray, “Lord, help them. Lord, strengthen them. Lord, provide for them.”
But have we considered that God may be calling us to participate in the answer?
Perhaps the hungry person needs the food you can share. Perhaps the discouraged soul needs the words you can speak. Perhaps the lonely person needs the time you can give. Perhaps someone who has fallen needs your hand to help them rise again.
Sometimes, the answer to someone's prayer is a person who has surrendered to the will of God.
This does not mean our good works replace prayer or save us by our own strength. Rather, our good works demonstrate the transforming power of our faith in Christ. As James 2:17 reminds us, faith without works is dead.
Jesus Himself showed us how to live. He healed the sick, comforted the brokenhearted, welcomed the rejected, fed the hungry, and brought hope to the hopeless. His love was not merely spoken; it was demonstrated through His life.
Therefore, let us follow His example.
Do not wait until you have everything before you begin to help. Use what God has placed in your hands. You may not be able to solve every problem, but you can make someone's burden lighter. You may not change the entire world, but you can change the world of someone you encounter.
Remember, compassion is more than a feeling. It is love expressed through action.
As Jesus concluded the parable, He said, “Go, and do thou likewise” (Luke 10:37).
Beloved family, let us pray with our mouths and serve with our hands. Let us worship God sincerely and demonstrate His love practically. Let us forgive, encourage, give, restore, and stand beside those who are suffering.
May our lives lead people closer to Christ Jesus. May our words bring hope, our actions reveal mercy, and our conduct reflect the character of our Saviour.
Let us become living testimonies of God's goodness: lives surrendered to Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit, and devoted to serving humanity in love.
May our prayers continue after we say “Amen.” May our faith become visible, our compassion become practical, and our lives become answers to prayer.
In Jesus Christ Name, Amen.

ReplyDeleteTeach us that compassion is not merely feeling sorry for someone. Compassion is being moved enough to act. It is sharing what we have when another person has nothing, listening when someone desperately needs to be heard, standing beside the forgotten, and offering hope to those who believe that everyone has abandoned them.
